Mat Fraser, CrossFit phenomenon, is known among the CrossFit community as an absolute legend. Competing since 2014, Fraser has made a serious name for himself across the globe.

When competing in the Dubai CrossFit Championships, it is said that Mat Fraser earned a whopping $100,000 for his first-place victory. That’s more than three times what the second-place winner received.

For the Dubai CrossFit Championships, cash prizes were also given out for the winner of each event. This added another $30,000 to Fraser’s winnings, sending him home with a grand total of $130,000.

Mo Money Mo Reps

Since 2014 Fraser has competed in eight CrossFit Opens, six CrossFit Regionals, six CrossFit Games, and one CrossFit Team Series. Each event winning hundreds to thousands of dollars for his successful events.

At the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, Fraser made an astounding $300,000! After placing first in six events and second in two, he even received an additional $22,000.

Starting out as an Olympic Weightlifter, Fraser sustained an injury to his back, forcing him to leave the sport. This is when he decided to change gears and jump into the world of CrossFit.

He has successfully won the CrossFit Games four years in a row, gaining a lot of support from fans, as well as a lot of prize money.

Studies say that it costs just under $600, on the lower end of the scale,  to compete in a CrossFit event. Most Pros aren’t paying budget prices to get their results, so we can assume this number is quite conservative.

However, when you’re making between $100,000 and $300,000 per event, even $5,000 wouldn’t make much of a difference.

We aren’t naive that Fraser will be taking the best of the best supplements. Most of them will most likely be gifted to him from brand partners that he is sponsored by.

Shockingly, his training was most likely more expensive in his early years, compared to now he is at pro level. His determination and drive are what have gotten him to that level so quickly.

Fraser took his weaknesses and turned them into strengths. Specifically, with his cardio, he worked every day for a year to improve his rowing ability so that he would be ready to compete.

Fittest Man on Earth

Mat Fraser was announced as “The Fittest Man on Earth”, yes you heard it right. He holds the title for the fittest man on our entire planet according to Men’s Health Magazine.

Fraser expressed in an interview, “I’m trying to inspire people to have a better work ethic, or chase whatever they want to chase.”. He hasn’t been a fitness fanatic or even been in a position as good as what he is now.

This new change of pace has massively impacted his lifestyle and philosophies. Pushing him to help others in need, each and every day.

“Hard work pays off” is one of Fraser’s favorite mottos, that is hashtagged all over his Instagram. His fans continue the hype, by adding his hashtag to any of their CrossFit and personal posts.

Mat Fraser is consumed by his sport. His entire life is tailored around his training, eating, and competing schedule.

I think it is safe to say that there are a lot of people out there who do a lot less for a lot more. However, he thrives off of his career and seems to love the rush he gets off of competing.

The Grand Total Revealed

It is estimated that Mat Fraser has a net worth of $2.5 million. His full-time job is training for CrossFit events, with money sources coming from events, sponsorships, and brand partnerships.

The average CrossFit Box membership is about $155.98 per month to attend as many times in the month as you want. This price also includes open gyms and classes.

That is about $1,872 a year, just for a gym membership alone. Training at the gym on an average of 6 hours per day.

When training for an event, he consumes an average of 6,000-7,000 calories a day! We don’t want to know what his Walmart bill comes to each week, that’s a lot of food!
